“Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration. Impact involves getting results, influence is about spreading the passion you have for your work, and you have to inspire team-mates and customers”
Nothing beats hearing stories of the everyday person who has achieved something extraordinary against the odds, writes Giulia Marino.
Whether that’s through selfless actions, innovative ideas or having the bravery to dare to be different and break the status quo.
The likes of Mother Theresa, Emmeline Pankhurst and Rosa Parks were all ordinary people who changed history by not being afraid to stand up for what was right and striving to make the world a better place.
Women Leaders is supporting inspirational women who are influencing our future as we speak – sometimes without even knowing it.
Here’s what we believe makes a person truly inspirational:
- Being positive
- Inspiring leaders should always try to be positive and uplifting. As a leader the message and attitude that you spread and share will have an effect on the people surrounding you.
- Having empathy
- To care for other people says a lot about who you are as a person and inspiring leaders are excellent carers and listeners. They are able to experience empathy and willingly express an understanding towards a person.
- Saying thank you
- Inspiring leaders are aware of the efforts from their team and strive to make sure their efforts do not go unnoticed. The most inspirational of people are gracious – even under the most strenuous of circumstances.
- Fearless bravery
- Exceptional people are prepared to take risks and be daring in life, they understand the courage it takes to inspire change and pursue their dreams even at the scariest of times.
- Giving back
Giving back to those who have supported and aided you in your journey shows great strength and kindness. As an inspirational leader it shows gentleness and compassion.
