NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN – Women Leaders Peterborough 2017
Women Leaders 2017 was officially launched this week on International Women’s Day at an event hosted by Peterborough City Council in the Mayor’s Parlour. Annette Joyce, City Services Director (and WL Trustee) introduced the event to attending dignitaries and the local press which was then followed by speeches from Council CEO Gillian Beasley, Leader John Holdich OBE, Gail Thomas (WL Trustee), and Cllr. Janet Goodwin.
Women Leaders celebrates and recognises women living or working within Greater Peterborough who have contributed to the growth of their own particular sector, be this within the corporate environment or within their local community which has contributed to the on going success of the city.
The event was initially launched in Milton Keynes in 2015 and has now become a prominent fixture within the city’s event calendar. Last year’s awards event, which was held at the Hilton DoubleTree MK Stadium, attracted over 500 guests to the gala dinner and presentation.
This year’s Women Leaders Peterborough awards already has the support of some of Peterborough’s top employers including Peterborough City Council. Annette Joyce, Director of City Services said: “We are delighted to welcome Women Leaders to Peterborough and offer our complete support to ensure it is a huge success and becomes a regular event in the city. Peterborough has a unique heritage centred around successful women and it is fitting that this event celebrates current and future women leaders”.
If you know of a woman who has excelled in her job and inspired all those around her, why not make a nomination today. It is free of charge to complete the nomination form online.
